Mario Crespo
I started my professional career as a computer engineer, but I always had an eye on audio as well so I decided to study audio production. Step by step I began to put it all together: my passion for audio, my knowledge, the technical skills and my enthusiasm for AI and video games. I enjoy what I do, I will keep learning and that shows in the quality of my work.

I started my professional career as an Audio Engineer in 2013. Since then I have worked on more than 500 audio projects. I have played different roles throughout these projects, such as audio lead, sound designer for video games or audiovisual productions (i.e. TV, cinema, and promo videos), voice production, and audio editing.
At some point, I decided I wanted to bring my vision and knowledge to the market so I created my own company: Witsound Technologies where we automate audio processes using deep learning and DSP.
Although I have worked on many projects as a freelancer, I feel more comfortable when surrounded by a team of good coworkers. Throughout my career, I have worked in many positions that make up a team like sound designer or audio editor. These diverse roles have helped me to adapt to different situations and to grow professionally.
Thanks to this learning and thanks to the positive evaluation of my colleagues, I have had the opportunity to be a team lead in several different companies and even created my own company!
If I look back, I do not remember a time in which I have not been studying or training. When your vocation is based on technological development, learning, and continuous recycling become something natural and necessary. Also, taking advantage of my concern to be up-to-date, I can merge audio engineering with computer science through research.
I have devoted a large part of my career to sound designer and audio editor tasks for different formats such as cinema, TV and video games. In this latter, I have also had the opportunity to work in VR and 3D audio. Motivated by the world of immersive audio, I created a binaural head on which I have written several articles that you can read here and here (in Spanish).
My passion for technology led me to study computer engineering which I use as a complementary tool in audio development, tool creation, and audio implementation. I use these skills to create DSP systems, deep learning models, program scripts for task automation, or in-game audio. Thanks to that, I created my own company: Witsound Technologies, where we automate tedious tasks using DSP and artificial intelligence such as deep learning.
Ever since I was a kid, I have always taken an interest in video games (and in particular the audio). Studying audio engineering and computer science, meant that I could build on this passion for video games. It is no longer just a hobby for me but a profession.
